Hey guys, this is probably the silliest question you have heard, but none of you know me......yet
I have a couple of bills and I want to add to the humi. It has a few 858s, three different Indian Tabacs and a few RP Vintage's.
I would like to set a few of these aside in a coolidor to put a little age on them to see what happens. I have not done that before  and I think it is about time to try it.
Anyway, it seems you guys have reasonable tastes and I would love to hear what you would do with $200 and a relatively empty humi. I am thinking maybe try some 5 Vegas, Gurkhas (have never had either of these), CAO. The activity of Taboo on the CS site peaks my interest and they seem to really support the botl.
Recently tried a single La Flor Dominicana maduro and enjoyed it. Also tried a Casa Torano and it was pretty OK. Had miscellaneous other brands in sampler packs, but it is hard to get a true flavor without trying several and I probably was too eager to smoke em at the time.
Have had a box of Padron 3000 maduro, these did not fit my palate that well.
I would love to hear from you High Altitude Puffers and don't be afraid to clue me in on any deals I should jump at. CI seems to be the place to get consistently reasonable prices.
Thanks again for the time.......Ron

I liked the 5 Vegas 'A' line, it was a pretty good smoke. I am smoking a lot of Pepin blended cigars now (and really, who isn't...besides Scott :) ) and I have liked the 5 Vegas Miami from him. One suggestion is to hit CI or CigarBid and try out a bunch of 5'ers to see what you like.

Well here (http://www.niceashcigars.com/Tatuaje-Havana-VI.asp) is where I would start. I have had just about all of the cigars in this line and love them all. The hermosos are my favorite. Hint: Scroll down below the boxes and you will find fivers, the prices on some of the fivers are better than box pricing by the stick. I have a full box plus one stick of the Nobles coming for $113.95 as I bought 5/fivers and the box price is $151.20. Just my two cents, good luck!!

I think you will get 100 different opinions here since taste is very subjective...So I think the ultimate thing for you to do is to try singles and 5 packs until you know for sure what you like... It took me awhile but I found out that I am a huge Fuente whore  and a bit of a Perdomo whore... I have only had on stick each from Fuente and Perdomo that I don't like...
So I think Cigarbid.com would be a great place to pick up some 5ers and singles at a good cheap price.
But based on what you have said your tastes are, I would try the Fuente Chateaus and Chateau Maduro... absolutely delicious, maybe more so than the 8-5-8's.
Mert Suggested the 5 vegas 'a' and I have to agree with those... they are very chocolate flavored and very good. I also agree that Pepin's are wonderful and I do smoke quite a bit of those... The pepin blues are my favorite especially with about 6 months of age... The White label isn't too bad but doesn't do much for me... and the black is pretty good. I still need to get a hold of a JJ maduro one day and try them since I hear great things. Also in the Pepin area, Tatujuae is an awesome line... the red label is my favorite of these.
There are some Gurkhas that I like to smoke but they are few and far between. If you do try some, I would go with the Black puro... it has almost a green tea kind of taste that I love. The other one I really like is the Symphony which is the silver label and is good with a few months of age.
If you venture out to CAOs, you might try the Brazilia... It is probably my favorite CAO. Very chocolaty and I get a hint of leather and spice....
For Perdomo, I would try a champagne as a morning cigar... absolutely incredible smoke and pretty complex for what it is...I haven't found too many people that don't like this cigar and it will give you an intro into Nick Perdomo's world. Then Maybe try a Perdomo Habano Maduro. These are cinnamon flavored and very good especially for the money. The lot 23 is a good stick and cheap also, but has a bit more kick in the pants than the other Perdomo stuff...
That should keep you busy for awhile.
Another good idea is to meet a few guys at a herf and exchange some sticks... it is a free way to get to try some new stuff you might not otherwise try... and trade some smokes that other guys might not have tried... At every herf I go to, I probably get at least 3 cigars that I haven't had before...
Hope that helps.

I'd head down to Texas and wait for Rob to have another out of his mind 25% off sale then use it to pick up a box of Taboos. $100 Then wait for the appropriate sale and pick up some Tat Angeles for the other $100. Another bang for the buck IMHO is the Oliva G Maduros. (Ask Gary about the Super G's) I just picked up a box of Torpedos last night for $83 because someone here posted the DPG sale on CI.
Speaking of that site, if you like them you can get Legends for about $57 a box. Pepin at that price? :)

Break the mold and stretch your wings. If you want to buy a few to age, go Cuban!
Otherwise, I'd have to suggest you spend half on singles and smoke them all before you buy any to age. Not all cigars age well. Look for something you like that also has strength and character, even if it's a slightly obnoxious character, and it should settle in nicely in 5 years. I'd stick with Tatuaje (don't forget original brown).

Thanks guys, I have a bunch of 5 packs coming with a good respresentation of your suggestions. Also looks like Taboo has a better than 25% discount for the twists, so had to take advantage of that. here is the cs link....I am sure you were all already aware....
