Hey guys,

New here and fairly new to Colorado. The wife and I just bought a house in Westminster and need to find a local B&M. Here's the situation.

Last night the wife and I went out to dinner in downtown. After dinner at about 8:00pm we headed to the tech center in hopes of going to Stanly Pappas for a cigar and drinks. Well ... they were closed :(

Here's what I'm looking for in a local B&M:

- Open late, say until around 10PM
- A terrific lounge that's NOT members only (I absolutely hate that idea)
- Able to serve drinks.
- Has some sort of live music on the weekends (need something to entertain the wife as she's a non-cigar smoker)
- A knowledgeable staff.
- Preferably within 20 minutes of Westminster.

Sorry for the rant guys and I'm sure there are many local establishments that fit my description.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,
Brad

That's a tall list for our little town Brad... Not sure you are going to find a B&M that fits all your criteria. Best bet would be the Celtic if you are downtown, but it's a bar... I'm sure others will suggest Havana Manor South (HMS), which is just off 36 in Louisville (not sure they are open 'till 10pm though).

Haven't heard of a musical B&M yet but yes, I'd suggest Havana Manor. Great place with great people there. Nice comfortable lounge with no membership. Great selection on sticks too.

FYI, the Original Cigar Store at 88th and Sheridan has a membership requirement. Never really felt welcome there either. I won't mention all the 'plume' I kept seeing either. But it's been well over a year since I've been in there.

Hey there Robusto Brad

I am very partial to Havana Manor in louisville.
they are always flexible on evenings, Heck I have closed the place several times late.
it is not strickly a members lounge although it is good form to make a purchase.

I would be happy to meet up with you some time there for a smoke.
as far as drinks , you can bring your own . My wife always has a bottle of wine in my locker for those unplanned stop overs.

regards
Henry

Like Peter and Dave said, Havana Manor is the place to be. Great lounge. Can BYOB... nice big screens to watch the games, etc. Not open terribly late. But on the weekends they tend to stay open till people are ready to leave. And if you ask nice, sometimes they stay an extra hour or two as well. One of my favorite B&Ms and right near Westy.

If you make it down south more, there are some great shops that way as well. Smoking Cave is awesome and Sean rocks.

I would steer clear of Stanley anyway since they overcharge for all cigars... and especially get ya on the top end sticks... great lounge, but I feel like a second rate citizen when I go there so I steer clear.

Thanks guys. Sounds like Havana Manor will be the spot. I've actually been there before and I do like the selection of smokes and they do have an impressive lounge. As mentioned in this thread I would always buy a cigar from the store if I'm using that lounge. I just think that's proper protocol. I also did not know you could BYOB there which is great.

Henry thanks for the invitation. I will definitely have to take you up on that in the near future.

Cheers,
Brad
