Havana Manor South on July 5th

Mert Mentioned he would be going to HM south for the UFC fights on the 5th... I thought I would get a post started to get everyone on the same page (and to post whore... :mrgreen: )

I will definitely be there... I had a great time there last time we met and loved the shop... I can definitely see myself going there a lot when I get settled in down there...

So if you are down for a smoke and some fights come hang out... I was thinking about getting there around the same time as we did the last time... so around 3-4pm?

What say you?

Yeah, I'm a UFC freak, and I'm currently training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Colorado BJJ HR over on C-470 and Quebec...the main instructor there is Mike Nichols, he was one the third season of TUF (I think it was the 3rd)...he's the guy with tons of tatoos, he owns a tatoo shop, too.

yeah yeah, I have known Mike for about a decade casually, not that we hang out ever but we met in the raver scene about 10 years ago.. I know Heidi the receptionist down at TSol, we used to work together.. Lee ball down there has tattooed my dad even!

I also am a huge UFC freak... not in any training - I just love some good ol' fashioned beatdowns.. ;) When i was younger, I watched the first UFC they had here in Denver back in the 90s and have been hooked ever since.. Pride, UFC.. you name it Ill watch it!!!!

I don't train to fight, I just like learning the techniques and training in a controlled environment...and I like the confidence it gives to know you can handle yourself, but I'm more a lover than a fighter :wink:

Yeah, I'll watch pretty much any fight organization too, have some DVD's from King of the Cage that are fun, older stuff...

OK. Stupid observation. I was thinking that there was a Havana Manor somewhere south of Louisville, like maybe south Denver. I was not thinking that the Louisville WAS the south location (& longtown the north).

What a great time!!!!! It was great to spend some time with Fred, Mert, David, Ray and Zach. On the ride home Fred talked about not laughing so hard in a long time and I have to agree completely. We also talked about a Jambalaya garage herf in the near future, so stay tuned for a new thread.

Sorry I missed the get together :cry:

Thought I could make it after getting 1.5 tons of hay for the horse, but then...
had to install a flat panel tv for my Mom (wall mount, had to run power and through wall hook-ups), but then....
had to chop down several trees for my Mom and haul off, but then.....
I must be getting old because I decided I was too tired to run to HM with holiday police running around, so I stayed home and had a smoke (Cosacos)/drink (cheap scotch) in honor of you guys. Shared the time with my lovely wife on the back porch.

Hopefully something will materialize for this upcoming weekend :P

Jeez, I would have got tired just watching someone load 1.5 tons of hay. I use to have to do that quite a bit when I was a kid so that is why I say watch, cause these days I would pay somebody else to do it or get rid of the horse. <Lazy bastage smilie here>

Glad to hear you got some family time in, my kids all stayed away this weekend. While I love them completely it was nice to just spend some time with the wife and a truck load of good cigars.
