I was in the Smoking Cave having a cigar with Sean and Mert when the conversation turned to Troop Support of the past. Just talking about what this group has put together in the past brought back that good feeling in my heart of having even a small part in supporting our wonderful Troops.

While Mert and I told stories to other customers at the shop of the Cigar Caddy Herf and bombing the BABOTL Sean offered to hold any cigar donations we can gather to send off to the Troops. It really got me to thinking that a Troop Support Herf to try to put together whatever we can to send off to the Troops around the holidays would be great. Any thoughts from the group?

I am certainly interested in the troop support, and a herf could possibly pull together some folks. I don't think it matters at the current time when the packages get sent in relation to the holidays since it takes a while to get to the destinations.

FYI...

Alright Gentlemen, I don't know who sent you and where you came from but the title says it all. I was out on a mission for about a week and came back to home base a couple of days ago to find out I had mail. Excited as I was, I could not get it as the mail room was closed. So, the next day I go to pick up my mail and there is a box there from Scott (Hopefully you don't mind if I mention your name Sir) labeled reading material. So, initially I thought I received a shipment of books from Operation Paperback which sends out books to deployed Soldiers. Well, was I wrong as heck. This was my initial reaction :dr . I opened it up and this is what I found. Inside there were more cigars than I could smoke in a month x2 air sealed packages x2 hats that say Cigar Cave, a torch that could weld metal, well maybe not metal, x2 cigar cutters, and a golf booklet to put cigars in with tees inside ready to be used to tee off. Scott, you Sir have me still in shock with all of this. So, because there were so many, I had to call on thisguyiswhack616 and a few other guys to help me sample the goods. So there we were, 5 in total smoking out in the cold of Afghanistan enjoying a cigar all that Scott provided. Thisguyiswhack616 of course partook in an Acid Kuba Kuba as he goes nuts over those :sl . There were so many sticks I had to empty out a seperate Pelican case and convert it. Don't worry pictures will soon be coming I just forgot my camera at the office this evening. I will leave this thread post with just this one thought, to all of the Service Members out there I say to you that these guys at Cigar Asylum are top notch people. :tu
