So the orgainization of the fridge is pushing the limits of my boxes and trays that I have. I was wondering if using the plastic built in vegetable crisper shelf in its native state would be ok or a bad idea and I should instead be begging for empty boxes to lay down as a floor. BTW, no its not vented but I imaging after some dremel time or drill pressing it could be.

If the tray was well ventilated to maintain the same temp and humdity as the rest of the fridge, and all cigars were kept in boxes or cedar trays, I don't see any problems. I wouldn't store singles sitting on the plastic.

If there isn't a strong plastic smell in the drawers I can't imagine you will have a problem Dave... Throw a hygro in there before you take the dremel to the draws as you might be fine without any mods. If it were me, I might pick up a few empty boxes (Duane has a pile doesn't he?) to pack singles in for any long/med term storage.

Thanks guys. For sure the smell of plastic is long gone out of this thing. :) There seems to be some good ventalation all around it so I'm not worried there. It was the laying on the plastic that I was worried about. So maybe I'll get some liner material this week. Keeping the singles in the boxes and not being able to gaze upon them has me missing a bunch when I'm looking for something new to try.

Ok, still trying to deal with singles and am looking for an off the shelf drawer solution. Any suggestions? I was thinking of those plastic drawer organizer things you see in Target but they're about two to three inches deep and there'll be stuff buried that I'll never find. I think though, that could be good too.

Just a thought, but how bout keeping an eye open for those desktop humidors they give away for free when you order a sampler. Remove the lid and you would have two trays, cedar lined. Bet a few of the guys might have some of those cheapos that they do not use anymore. maybe even cbid?
Just thinking out loud with the keyboard.

No creativity here, but with a frame and drawer rails would work nicely...
