A friend of mine is coming into town this next week for my friend Patrick's birthday party. This guy is the one that started me down the slope of cigars and single malts. This is a guy that when laid off of a job took the severence and went west. He kept going until he came back from the east. No itinerary, no schedule. Just adventure and exploration.

The short of it is at some point in time I'm hoping to introduce him to the finer points of HMS. For me it looks like Sunday, Monday or Wednesday.

Would anyone like to join us? Duane misses you all.

I'm probably going to be up there Friday afternoon, but that's probably all I can do.

Sunday or Wednesday would probably work the best for me with Wed being the best day. The gf works till 10 pm on wed so I have not much going on lol... sunday she will wanna get things unpacked more around the house... and Monday is the only day she doesn't work that I do so that is basically impossible for me to do much of anything!

Keep us posted...

This just in. My friend Patrick (the birthday boy - some of you have met him) is ill and the visitor is postponed until later. Oh well. But Mstroh seems like he'll be in town. Anyone up for a meet with him? I see at least two of us still open that night.

Yeah, and they just tightened the no smoking rules in Omaha, too! Fortunately I can still get a smoking room at the hotel, and they have two rooms so I can smoke in the sitting room and not sleep in the haze!

I have a buddy that lives in Omaha(works for UP railroad as a train dispatcher) and I actually liked it there, however I missed those beautiful mountains to the west :D The beef is very good there as well
Sorry I won't be able to make the herf, but I am looking at next month taking my brother to HM to watch some UFC. I haven't followed the ufc since the days of Dan Severn

Well I am sorry I couldn't make it tonight but glad I was home as some very bad news came at about 6:30. My youngest sons best friends step mother called to tell us that my son best friend committed suicide yesterday. He was only 19 and had suffered depression for many years, my son talked to him in August on Adams Birthday for the last time, as the depression had made Adam pull back from his friends. It was very hard to tell our son but would have been much worse if I had not been home. Adam was a great kid, when Jamie was younger they spent almost all of their time together. If Jamie wasn't at Adams house Adam was at our house. I wish I could take this pain from Jamie and just make everything okay, but he is such a good man and so much stronger than I could imagine. He makes me so proud and grateful to be his dad.

Nothing to be sorry about there. I can't even imagine that scenario. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family as well as his. These things are much more important than burning a few sticks and some giggles.

Need anything, shout.

Jamie,

sorry to hear that. That is never fun news to hear or to deal with. I hope everything goes well with your family and especially your son. Let us know if you need anything.
