Ahhh, what a day! Cooked some blueberry pancakes for the kids which only one of them ate. Almost got into it with the Ex about her wanting more money and her lack of job. There were some high points, got to ride the bicycle for a bit before I shuffled off to HMS for a fine smoke and some conversation. There was a football game or something on the tvs.
I can't decide whether I want it to snow so the summer isn't so freakin dry or keep it like this on the weekends so I can get out more on the scooter and bicycles.

Ok that sucks more than Mert's deal. Who the FFFF makes you schedule maintenance on a holiday where there's no vendor support????? That is nowhere to be found.

Worst part is I scheduled it. We'd fired everything we had at a big switch to make it work right that week, and vendor finally gave up and suggested that maybe a reboot would keep it stable long enough to replace it. That was the 31st. So I scheduled an emergency window, went to pretty good New Year's party, didn't get too lit to type, popped the switch, watched it cry about memory corruption errors on reboot, opened an RMA, and went back to partying.

Ok, so it's almost mid April. The weather has sucked the days I've been free and there have been a couple that were good but I had to work.
Screw it!!! I need a fix!! Tomorrow is SUPPOSED to be upper 50's so today I bought a flat of brats, chicken thighs and a rib roast (half price - $30- at Kings if you're interested in one).
Unfortunately this was all after my Q shop closed and I need to get some new rubs and charcoal. So first thing tomorrow I'll be at his door knocking and coming home to let things soak for a little bit while I take my kids to the Arvada Kite Festival (look it up, it's free and fun for the family). Then I'm going to come home and fire up my first smoke of the year. I'll let you know how it turns out. Hopefully I'll have you all over for the second round.

My wife was on the way to the Lowes at Southlands mall (the one that was just on Fox 31 News), when she turned around because of the tornado warnings. We then found out that a tornado went through the Lowes parking lot, and the rest of southlands mall (about 5 minutes from my home)
This was litterally right after I finished installing a new storm door on my backyard door. I think that is what kept us safe, my new storm door.

Nope, I had to leave at 5:00 to get home for dinner with my wife and kids. I did enjoy a very nice Tatuaje (brown label, don't know the name), and it was fantastic. great 1 1/4 hour smoke, with a nice Coca-Cola, watching Fox News and ESPN. The guy with the remote could not make up his mind.

BTW, today I won two raffles at work. One for a free entry to the Stadium Stampede on Father's day (saves me $20 - it's a benefit for St Joe's hospital that finishes in Mile High Stadium - note I don't say invesco) then I get a free hour massage certificate too!
I'm going to go get so wrecked and let them work out all the knots! :)
Oh! And I get to leave tomorrow night for a long weekend next to the river in Estes. Relaxing, hanging out, hiking, hope the weather holds out for a few sticks on the deck!

That weekend in Estes sound awesome! We did a camping trip over Memorial Weekend, right by a river, and sitting by the camp fire, enjoying a nice cigar (or three) was just what the doctor ordered. I don't know if there are legal ramifications, but I think it goes to the argument of when cops should and shouldn't chase people. I can't imagine anything the person he was pursuing did that was worth the lives of two people, and I would assume the person got away anyway.

There are a bunch of options depending on what mountains you want to ski. When I purchased them, you could get the 4 pass (4 days unrestricted to Winter Park/Mary Jane/Copper Mountain) for $120; a season pass to just Winter Park/Mary Jane for $359; a season pass to Winter Park/Mary Jane/Copper Mountain for $399. all of these are adult passes. You can also include Steam Boat in the passes, but then the price goes way up.
Children 5 and under ski free
Children 6 to 12 it is $209 for season pass to all three mountains.
It cost me, spot on, $1060.
http://www.skiwinterpark.com/tickets/seasonpass/index.htm
This may seem like a lot (and it is, when I hit submit on the purchase button my face looked a lot like :yikes:). However, if you buy a lift ticket at the window it is at least $90 per adult and $60 for my oldest child (my youngest would still ski free). So for one day skiing without the pass it would cost about $240, and spending that kind of money there is no way we would leave early. Come hell or high water we would ski all day, and the kids would not enjoy it because they would be just too exhausted by the end of the day.
Two weekends of skiing and I have made up the season pass, and the remainder of the year is gravy. Plus we can leave when ever the kids get tired, because we did not drop $250 to ski that one day. And we have free lodging all winter long, which just seals the deal.
Two weekends of skiing and I have made up the season pass
We always look at it as the first day on the hill is very expensive and the rest of the days are FREE

Did you catch up with him? I hope you did. Cheese#$%&. Hated them.

Hope she's ok & the experience doesn't dampen her spirits too much Matt... I hope she's back up and skiing as soon as possible!

I should tone it down, as I don't know if he was an Ahole or not, as I did not speak to him, by choice. If I had spoken to him, I would have gone off, and I would have been the a-hole. The ski patrol caught him, yanked his ticket, and he is getting charge by the district attorney. She has her fingers all bandaged up, with steri-strips on the lacerations. No stitches, praise God. While she was crying and wimpering in my arms, before the doctor came into the exam room, she looked up at me and said "when the doctor is done, can we go back to skiing?"
WHAT A TROOPER!!!!!!!!

Oh crap! I went and worked out with a buddy of mine tonight. This guy took best all around rider the last two years in his categories and is racing Pro, 1,2 next year. Yeah if Lance showed up he'd be racing him - and prolly give him a good run. As you can imagine for a bike racer, it's all legs in the workout. Mine feel like logs. Of course my arms got a good workout from taking all his plates off to get the weight down for me on my turns. Ever see someone press 350 with one leg?
I am so not walking tomorrow. But this will feel real good come the March races.

Hi guys -- for those of you who haven't seen, I'm hosting a contest on a CA to help Fred fill his troop coolers. Entry is a 5'er for the troops. The catch is YOU don't win anything -- rather you enter the name of a fellow BOTL. Winner gets my vino, two custom made shelves, and FOUR custom made vino drawers -- one of which will packed with sticks. I'll ship it on my dime anywhere in the CONUS or Canadia.
You can view the contest thread on CA HERE (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=24614)
Show your buddies you love them!

Very generous Vin... I have already 'bought' a couple of tickets & plan on picking up a few more before you close it up. Fred was more than pleased when I told him about your raffle last week.

Quick update and then back to helping out in the kitchen.
Some of you knew that my wife, Sally Beth, was having surgery this week. Everything went fine on Tuesday and she spent yesterday on lots of pain meds. She's back up and about and is doing fine except for some discomfort and is enjoying spending time with her parents.
Thanks for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.
Happy Turkey Day, everyone!

Thanks guys. She isn't really doing much today except being nauseated and sleeping. Actually her parents are both sick today as well, so perhaps it isn't related to the surgery.

Well since it's so quiet here today, I figured I'd post something for you all to read.
BTW for all you that know Boy Scout stuff, I received my Woodbadge beads last night. Pretty cool I had some people in my course come down from Silverthorne, one of which graduated with Scott, along with a guy I worked with at DIA when we opened that place.
