I can tell you am I certainly glad that we have our own forum. I'm not saying I'm bailing on CS, but I am cautiously pessimistic about it's future. And I can tell you the new name of this 'super forum' isn't helping! :shock:

Fred, thank you for getting this site up, I can say that I for one really appreciate it!!! :D

I'm with Mert on this. We are lucky to have this place to interact, so watching what is happening at CS isn't a big deal to me. Don't get me wrong, I like CS but I also like this forum, CW and ICC. We still have choices but in the future I think I will try not to buy as much forum logo'd stuff. Troop supporter stuff is different but no Puff.com stuff for me.

The one thing that makes me nervous about this is not knowing what will happen to the Troop Supporter efforts.

Yeah I have to agree... it will be interesting to see what falls out and what stays put. As for the logo stuff I always tried to avoid any of that stuff as I never liked it enough to get it...

But at least we do have our own separate forums! :mrgreen:

Cool logo, but I'm not sure about using the word "inhale" in the tag line for a cigar forum... I'm guessing that will be changed/omitted.

Well, if the troop supporter effort gets tanked, let me know and I'll put you in touch with Operation From The Heart, that's the organization that we use over at THH to donate to the troops.

Wow... just finished 24 pages of that thread & my head is spinning. Good news that the pipe forum will stay & initially it looks like the new owner is on board to be rational with answering people's questions. Still some major stuff to be outlined & I guess we won't really know definite outcomes until the proposed transition closes in on taking effect.

I only got through the first thirteen before my 'lunch break' (30 minutes of getting a sandwich shoved in front of me during a working session of a two day meeting).

All I can say is 'thank you very much fred!!' I have come to enjoy this place much more than CS. Learned a lot from CS but have found myself reading less and less. The only other thing I can say is WTF? An ubersite? Led by some weird a55 fish inhaling a cigar? Sorry, I'm a Louie fan. Glad I didn't even think about those scotch glasses.

That is one of the worst ideas I have seen in a while :? The idea of brining three boards into one mega board just doesn't seem very smart( but what do I know). I will just move on to other forums including posting here more :D

As we all know, whether we embrace it, tolerate it, or fight it, change will continue. We had a good run with CS, and a lot of fun. I expect to have minimal involvement over there, but we are fortunate to have choices. The landscape of cigar boards will again look quite different in 5 years than we have today. It's inevitable that someone will come along and crap in the bed. Stick around and get tight in the cigar community and some awesome doors will open too. Just my uninformed opinion, of course. :mrgreen:

Type your url into the "Translate a Web page" box choose somthing like german to english then translate. I think you can still do it thorough google too. It's been years sense I've tried this though. :D

Allow me to give a brief introduction of Nullsmurf, correct me and/or expand upon in the new member area please as I don't think you did when you signed up Bruce.

Nullsmurf is Bruce, he has been around our board from the beginning and hosted the first herf I ever attended. Bruce is a fine BOTL and his opinion is important to him and seldom held back (a trait I quite admire). He has very good taste in NC's and Whiskey and is very generous and gracious host as I found out at that first herf.

Please welcome him, Bruce I hope you can make one of the next herfs.

I think several will bail and some will get the boot, but I think things are calming down right now. At this point I have several places to go that I am in good standing including here so I am waiting to see where it goes. If it turns out good than I am good to go and if it goes in a direction I don't like I have CFRFN, ICC, CP, Social Cigar and The Man Cave. Shoot me the info on Poriggity's board if you don't mind, I would like to check it out.

I really wish we could fast forward 6-12 months to see what comes of all of this. This is worse than trying to watch your favorite show during the actual season, and having to wait a week to find out what happened on Lost!

Can I just ignore this entire debacle, then buy the complete season on DVD and catch up on 6 months worth of drama in a week? :laugh:

I'm done raking the muck. Some will go over, some will not. I don't personally do well with moderated boards of any topic. Few of any boards are communities of the magnitude of CS. I'm sorry for your/our loss.
