View Full Version : Couple of stupid questions

Okay, could be the oxycodone talking but I have some stupid questions.

So membership in FRH is free, but how do you actually get it? By just joining the forum and going to herfs?

Also, does anyone actually hang out at HMN? I know most of you guys hang out at HMS (for some obvious reasons, the lounge being one), but since I live about ten minutes from HMN that's the B&M I frequent.

Anyone who joins the forum can call themselves a member, and anyone who hooks up with the group at a herf or even sets up an impromptu get together is always welcome. There are no rules against someone joining that isn't local but the primary purpose of the board is to have a place where any local LOTL can go and see where the meetups are. Another would be if someone was coming into town for a few days, they would certainly be welcome to post to see if anyone wants to get together. Great and lasting friendships are made through herfing. Many local cigar and pipe smokers do not do the forum thing, but it was thought that it would be great if there was some site where people on the front range could go to see where people were meeting up for a smoke. We have talked about printing cards that indicate membership in order to present to a B&M and get some of the discounts around town, but haven't yet. Members get a discount at HMS for example, and we could and should set up more deals through other shops.

We have herfed at many peoples homes and shops from the Springs to Ft. Collins, though I don't think HMN yet. I'd love to check it out, and you or anyone should feel free to set something up. We support all local B&Ms and will definitely give them our business when there.

HMS is about 15 minutes from my house but CO6 isn't that much further away depending on traffic.

CO6? Is it a place or a road?

Normally HMN works out perfectly for me since I'm a grad student at UCB and I can drop by before heading to school.

Okay, I see now. Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to make a trip down there at some point.

Edit: Ouch, looks like it'd take just over an hour. Still, looking forward to checking it out sometime.

No worries. It'll probably be a little while, but I'll be seeing you guys on the 22nd in Fort Collins.

It can't take you an hour, I can get to CO6 in just over an hour from Fort Collins.

And to address your origonal question, I don't know that anyone really just hangs out at HMS. Dave and Zach live really close to it and may stop by occasionaly. Other than that I'm not sure anyone really is a regualr there.

Edit: Wait we did just get a few new members...

hey Scott, what's the deal at HMS, I didn't know we get a discount. I have been stopping by on fridays on my way home from work. Great place.

I swung by there last night with the wife. We had dinner, and caught the Texas Tech game(Son is a student there ) and met Duane for the first time. The wifey brought a bottle of bubbly to keep her company, and tried to crash the poker game.

that place is going to be my winter hang out.
It was great to sit there and have a nice stick or two.

You mean... Google maps lied to me  Well then, I guess I'll just have to climb into the ol' subaru and see how long it takes.

Dave and others can chime in, but I think it's 10% off if you state you're a FRH member, sometimes higher for special events.

thanks Scott

come to think about it, I grabbed a Padron 26 that I thought was 14 bucks, and might have been charged 12 something. I did mention that the good BOTL's of this site pointed me to HM.
