It's been something I've been wondering ever since I've had more than two sticks, I think cigars are the some of the only things that you can have two of and can't race, what do I do when I want to gift someone a cigar? I mean if you had a single you never tried but want to would you give that or would you pull something out that you had more than one of?

Please discuss amongst yourselves. I'm feeling verklempt here...

Sounds like you might've had the same morning I did, trying to figure out what to bring tonight. Most of my cigars are stuff gifted by brothers at the last couple of herfs, or from a couple of trades I just did...cigar's I only have one of, and I want to try them. I'm interested in thoughts here as well, particularly for those on a cigar budget.

Well, I do know one thing. I can't bring myself to trade out or re-gift a gifted cigar. That stick was meant for me to smoke and by golly, pending a lung transplant I'm going to smoke it.

When your collection is small it can be difficult selecting gifts. There are two schools of thought as you know. One is when I gift a cigar its no longer mine and the recipient may do whatever they wish with it. The other is being offended should someone give away my gift to them.

Don't ever forget that it is perfectly acceptable to not gift anyone if your circumstances won't permit you to. Its the brotherhood and not the "cigarhood" of the leaf.

I have given away smokes I've purchased and never smoked and held on to cigars I've smoked and enjoy. Rare and aged cigars as well. The answer for me is if I have them, I will gift them. If I don't and someone is offended...fusk'em

I agree! Lessons from the master. Then again we witnessed the ultimate in gifting yesterday as well.

Thanks again Fred, Peter and Jamey.

I personally don't gift cigars I've been given, but I'm lucky (and broke) in that I don't have to. I generally don't give away cigars I only have one of if I am dying to try them, but same caveat. However, in the end, I don't have any cigars I'm not willing to give away.

Well said Scott!!!! I too can't think of a cigar I couldn't give away at the right time and to the right person. It's only a cigar.

Very true. Sometimes the right person and the right cigar aren't me.
