In honor of mojo65 and my curiosity as to the life and travels of an over the road truck driver, I thought this might be interesting to keep up with him and his travels. (If he's interested)

While I have a small TV in the truck....Its hardly ever on, Piss poor reception and once the switch to digital happens its going to be relegated to VCR / XBox duty.

Hope your cross over fuel line doesn't freeze... ;)

That cant happen, the cross over has gone the way of the dodo bird. Modern trucks have a valve between the frame rails that draws and returns fuel to both sides, and maintains a close level in each tank.

But I appreciate the sentiment!:salute:

This is the part of trucking that annoys the hell out of me. Killing a weekend.

Delivered in Mainville OH......think Cincinnati this afternoon. Next stop is Terre Haute IN Monday then to Wixom MI, Chicago IL, Burnsville MN and back home...... Plus whatever pops up along the way.

I guess the coasters at Cedar Pointe are out of the question. You could track down the BBQ at Montgomery Inn if it's still there.

Something like this happened on I-70 out past Watkins I think it was a few months ago, guy was loaded with red brick. The truck came to a stop but the load kept going.

Pipe or structural steel should be tied down with chain! And it should have several belly chains too...they would wrap all the way around the stack then down to the deck cleat rail.

If this driver survived, its only because the door popped open and he was pushed out to the side. This is a guess on my part, but I dont see any traces of.... well you get the idea.

Physics is your friend. Or your worst enemy!!

That is a fact! Here is video to prove it. This driver had his CDL license for 9 days. His trainer was asleep in the bunk while the trainee was crossing DONNER PASS from Reno into California. This happened in the middle of the steepest curviest section. Both men died in the incident. The man in the bunk was not located until the next day. He was found under the load, after the log books were examined.

Notice I called it an incident and not an accident.

In excess of 65 clearly marked 45 max for trucks...... His trainer shouldn't have been sleeping, He should have been in the jump seat training the newbee! These company's force team loads on the trainers and wonder how this happens.
