Smoking a Padron 26 thanks to Travis, he gifted it to me at the herf up in Colorado Springs a few months ago.
Thanks brother, this is a great smoke. It has turned a tough day into a great night. :salute:
You know, the greatest hope when you give someone a cigar is that it'll take a couple hours of someone's life and make them better, so cheers!

I had an RP Fusion MM this morning on my way into work.. graciously gifted by my neighbor..
interesting stick, i was expecting more 'in your face' flavor but it was nice and understated. My french roast totally overpowered the flavor... it had a stiff draw which i wasnt too thrilled with but like i said, an interesting stick that needs more investigation but probably not at the box level

Just getting ready to smoke a RyL Churchill gifted to me from Fred. I think he said it is an 01 :youaretheman:.
I just sat and smoked a beautiful RyJ Escudos thanks to Henry, while watching Colorado State beat Fresno. It made for a perfect Saturday afternoon.

Thanks to Fred, I smoked a '01 VR Classicos yesterday which was excellent. Years ago, I used to expect different things from the Classicos based on the rest of the VR line. These deviate from the rest a bit and never fail to satisfy.

Thanks to Scott I smoked a ’98? La Flor de Cano. Quick review:
First third: Awful. Indescribable flavors, possibly vegetal vomit on barnyard. Maybe not that bad, but I was not used to it. Also my tongue swelled a little. Any other stick and I would have tossed it.
Second third: Much better. All bad taste gone and some woody notes.
Final third: very good. Toasty goodness.
Overall : not bad, burn was perfect and no relights.
Thank you for the experience.:youaretheman:

I smoked a '99 du Prince from Glenn. I smoked one from my box two days earlier and I wanted to compare notes since the wrappers were quite a bit different in color. Thanks Glenn! That was fun to try both. I will have to get you one from my box for you to try that out. :peace:

Pinar P3000 Belicoso.
Glad that you enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!
From one vendor's website -
"Pinar 3000 Belicoso Gran
After Painstakingly sorting and classifying every single leaf, we combined several of the Cuban tobaccos (with an emphasis on Ligero for classic Cuban strength). The result, rolled 100% from Cuban leaf (filler, binder, and wrapper) is the quintessential Cuban cigar. The flavor is deep, rich and complex while remaining incredibly smooth and easy smoking... 7X52"
Thanks again for the opportunity to try this cigar Sean!!! I remember reading reviews on some Pinar cigars, but they were the P2000 line, which are not all Cuban tobacco (reportedly only the filler is Cuban in P2000 cigars). I will definitely report back once I've lit one up!

Sounds like a great weekend! I was sucking so much wind (re: hiking 3000 vertical feet) that I couldn't light anything. I wished this guy :flame:could have come visit, I had a RyJ Churchill gifted to me that I was dying to smoke!

Gladd you enjoyed it. What did you think compared to the GdE and ERdM Lonsdale?

The blame falls on clint (ronaldmcd) once more!! This little vegueros is tasty as can be, perfect draw, nice for a "quick" (for me, 30-45 minutes) smoke. I'm sure jamie's have it done in about 3 minutes!
Enjoyed a smooth yet spicy RyJ Short Churchill thanks to Scott.

Honestly I like the the GdE, then the Lonsdale, then the Gran Corona in that order. Of course I have only had one of each so far. I do have another GdE waiting for me in my case that I might burn this week... and I am really loving the ERDM PCs... good lil smoke and the perfect size for the car ride home. I had to rush that GC a bit tonight to finish it before I got home. That might be why it is a tad lower on the list.
In any event, I still wanna grab a box since they are discontinued lol... but they might have to wait a bit since the sale stuff just bit me again tonight... :screwy:

Last night, I smoked a Cohiba DC EL that Henry gave me a while back. I sat on it for a long time, but getting a job was a good reason to burn it. Very smooth, full body. Tasted creamy malted chocolate flavors for the first half, the second half it was still there but picked up a tiny bit of spice, more paprika than pepper, and hints espresso. The second half just slowly built from a solid foundation. This was a spectacular treat. Thank you Henry!!

I was in Vail this weekend for a conference and had 2 fantastic cigars on the patio under the stars:
RA Benelux RE 2007 Gran Robusto from Scott; delicious first and middle thirds with sweet toasted flavors and darker coffee on the back end.
Partagas Lonsdale 2003 from Zach; holy crap! what a smooth tasty treat after dinner and enjoyed with friends at a spontaneous herf. Rich spicy flavors that went on forever.
Thanks guys,
Dave

I smoked a recent SCdLH El Principe earlier thanks to Stefan... Tasty little stick! With the open draw I had to take my time (more than usual) & it did start to show it's youth after 1/2 way, especially through the nose.
Smoking a very nice '98 RyJ Corona thanks to Jeff after having Manicotti for dinner... Creamy, sweet & a little herbal... Damn tasty and pairs well with the Asti we had with our meal.

I smoked Sean's signature Veritate that he gifted me last night. Strong earthy notes and a distinct vanilla finish. Pretty dang good stick. Thank you very much Sean! I don't know the full story behind these cigars, other than they have been well received.

I agree with Scott, I am enjoying the one Sean gifted me as I type. Perfect burn all the way with a bright white ash. Strong yet good flavor, I didn't get the vanilla but earthy describes it well for my taste. Just about the perfect draw for me, next time I'm in the Cave you can bet I will be picking up a few of these.
Thanks again Sean!

Enjoyed a Dip 1 from Peter...wow, that is a damn good cigar with some interesting flavors...I want to say I got some mushroom from it in the first quarter, I am not sure how to describe that particular flavor, whatever it was it was unexpected/a nice surprise...I really need to get on it with these.
In honor of Peter I paired the cigar with his favorite beer:

I'm glad they were good for you Mark!!
I smoked a few lately. Thanks to Peter for a Dip #1 and a PL Monte Carlo. The Dip #1 was tasty but slightly tight, and the PL was just fabulous in every sense. Tonight I smoked a MC#4 that I forgot to label, it might have been from Zach or Glenn. What a great smoke. Creamy latte flavors with some sweet background and a very toothy wrapper. Great!! Thanks guys!!!

Thanks to Henry for my first Montecristo Open Eagle. This was an interesting cigar. Nice barnyard odor cold, excellent construction, nice smooth Colorado wrapper with tiny veins. It was quite creamy, with some caramel and fruity flavors in the first half, a base of charcoal and leather in the second. I think it was quite good, but I also felt I was smoking South American tobacco. These should be interesting as they mature. Thank you H! Looking forward to your thoughts.

South American eh? Should be fun to grab a box of the first release ones and see how they progress... how did you think they stacked up the "monte" profile?

I wouldn't have picked it out as a Monte if I didn't know, so not at all like other Montes to me. Never judge on one though.
I smoked a HU Corona Major today thanks to Rich. Great draw and burn and very satisfying flavor. It ended too soon. Thank you Rich!!

I have only had one. Overall I liked it. I did not think of it as a MONTE , but simply another cuban cigar to try. In that regards, I thought the construction and materials was first rate. The draw was a tad loose for me, but I would rather have that that a plug. The flavors were there, creamy, nutty, maybe some caramel too.. I also give this stick some leaway because it is only a couple months from the factory and had to cross the pond twice.
All in all every bit a 10 dollar cigar, it is not a monte profile, it is it's own profile and I am looking forward to them settling over the next 5 yrs. no complaints from my side.
different but a good stick.

A little late on posting this, but enjoyed a very special cigar in a very special place last weekend.
Went up to RMNP and enjoyed a Monte Especial #1 next to the upper, upper, upper Colorado River. The construction was beautiful, the draw was perfect, and it showered my taste buds with delicious and complex flavors from the first draw to the last. By far one of the best cigars I've ever had...made that much better by the scenic surroundings.
Thank you so much Scott!
