I'm re-posting this from another board to get the word around...
"Tobacconist University is circulating a petition in support of a proposed Federal law that would override the states and allow smoking in all tobacco shops nationwide. You can find the link at http://tobacconistuniversity.org/"
The link is the first one called TPA petition.

I think it's funny that the petition is being hosted on a lunatic-fringe tree-hugger site that is probably anti-tobacco!

5 minutes after I signed the petition, I started getting spam from the site.

I wonder if it is owned by the guy who owns puff.com:rolleyes:

Dear Herfers,
Thank you for your support; I was pleasantly surprised to see Tobacconist University and the TPA getting hits and responses from you. I wanted to clarify that I am the owner of Tobacconist University and it was my choice to temporarily locate the TPA petition on the care2 site. I am very sorry they send spam - it has been driving me crazy as well. THE GOOD NEWS IS we are creating a consolidated petition on our website and after that there will be no spam. We wanted to release the TPA on Jan. 1 so we had to use outside sources (and part of me secretly enjoys having the petition hosted by people/organizations that would probably rather not). I apologize for any inconvenience, but funding is very difficult for us and this was a good intermediary step.
PS: while TU just had an article written about me/TU on puff.com, there is no financial or ownership connection between us. One of the biggest issues with TU has always been to maintain independence - that is part of the reason we are solely owned and do not accept advertising.
.... sorry to be long winded, and thanks for your support.

Works for me. However, be very careful in your dealings with Jon Caputo. A relationship may inadvertently draw you into the drama he has inspired.
