I smoked a PAM 80th last night while getting some reading done. The construction was wonderful, which was a pleasant surprise. I've had a a few in the past that just exploded - utterly unacceptable for a cigar like that to do so IMO. The draw was perfect, loose enough where I didn't have to work to smoke.
While it was a nice cigar, I found my self wondering about why the price point on them are so high! I really didn't find any stand out tastes other than tobacco and a mild chocolate. The flavors were also very consistent, nothing changed and I kept looking for signs of complexity. Maybe I was expecting too much?
I'm guessing the cigar simply doesn't hit my palate in that right way.

I think I'm with ya Ray. I enjoy the Padron cigars, but think that they are all a tad higher priced than they needed to be. So that keeps me from buying them for myself. I do enjoy them when I get them gifted to me, but I just can't buy them for myself.

If the price point were down I could see having a box.

I really like the PAM 1964 and serie 1926, but I always feel guilty about spending that much on a single cigar. Especially when there are so many other great cigars at lower price points.
Heck, even the regular production Padrons are great and not as much scratch as the higher end stuff.

I was very disappointed with this cigar. Still have a box. Hoping they get better over time, but that usually doesn't happen with the PAM.
