Another friend in town 4/1-4/4

If any of you have read the posts from Ginseng (Wilkey) on ICC or other boards, you'll know he's a very knowledgeable fellow when it comes to cigars. He will be in town the first week of April and I'd sure like him to see how the CFRH does things. Here is the link to the thread on ICC (http://www.internationalcigarclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15844).

He says he'll be available on 4/1 and 4/4. He is staying at the Comfort Inn downtown, the same hotel Bruce stayed at. I don't really care where we go but nobody herfs like this group. Those coastal boys can only imitate.

On Sat 4/4, we could hit the Celtic Tavern, Nickle Cigar as has been proposed, Churchills or a combo of places. I don't have his schedule yet so don't know if he's available during the day or just evening. I may stop by Wed. evening 4/1 for a cigar with him as well, and everyone is welcome.

Please indicate if you can join in, and if so, what your thoughts are. I'll get more info from Wilkey.


P.S. Another good friend may be out the weekend of April 18th.

Here is Wilkey's timeline.

I'm arriving on 4/1 at DIA at 12:25 PM. So say an hour or so to find my hotel and drop off luggage and I should be ready to rock as early as 3:00 PM. I'll need to find dinner earlier rather than later as I'll be on Eastern time. On 4/4, I would say that 6:30 would be the earliest that I can be ready and I'll be ready for dinner.

Wednesday 4/1:

Early dinner at Racine's - 4 pm
Churchill's for Cigars - 6 pm or so


Saturday 4/4:

Dinner and Cigars at The Celtic Tavern - 6:30 pm


Please let me know if you can make one or both of these nights. I'll understand if the early dinner on Wed. is out. I really hope that the FRH turnout is good for at least Saturday to show this Eastern fellow how the West rules!

Wilkey and I have discussed this and here's the schedule that was combined from ICC and FOH. All are welcome. Come meet our visitor and some friendly CO locals. Please let me know ASAP if you want to come to Racine's for dinner on Wed so the reservations and table size is correct, not that it'd be an issue at that time to accommodate more.

I need to swing by SC and drop some stick off to Sean...He said he hadn't tried a few different Fuente things and he said them out loud... so I was gonna bomb him with 4-5 nice sticks that he needs to try! :new_rofl: But I don't think I am gonna stay for poker, so I will swing by and give our Friend a warm welcome!

Never been to Churchill's...always have heard good things...decent selection of smokes there? If I can make it tonight I see myself smoking a Tat or Illusion or somethin but I didn't bring any backups into work...of course, the weather could really put a hurt on my chances...here's to hoping

The selection at Churchills is quite expensive... I would definitely advise ya to bring your own sticks. I tend to support that place, by buying drinks and such... but the cigars are way too pricey for my blood...

Wednesday night went well. After picking up Wilkey at the hotel, Peter and Dawn joined us for dinner (the fish & chips were so-so), and Dave (toasterhead) joined us for a drink. We rolled over to Churchill's and met up with Matt and Tim (Clipper on ICC). I had a very nice RA Gran Robusto and an Alfredo custom that was good but irritated my throat.

I had a nice time all. Thanks for joining us and thank you all for the gifted cigars. I look forward to seeing most of you and many others later this week.

What a great time, meeting Wilkey, Scott, Dawn and Peter. Sorry I couldn't carry on into the night, but I'll get my chance for a smoke tomorrow night. I thought Dawn was a really good sport putting up with us. It was funny; as soon as Dawn got up from the table, four guys who had just met went instantly into non-stop cigar talk mode

I plan on bringing a small assortment of goodies to Churchill's for a live box pass tomorrow night; you know, take one you may not have tried and replace it and pass it on. I also have some special gifts for our guest cigar sleuth.

See you all at Churchill's; look for the FOH hat.
