View Full Version : RH Beads Group Buy Interest

Started from another thread.

What is the interest in your participation of a group buy of Heartfelt Industries RH bead purchase? I'd like to know RH and quantity.

I've already sent an inquiry email to him as to pricing, so I don't know right now but will post it when that info is available. Why Heartfelt? I bought from him already and he gave me excellent customer service, I like his product and finally I'm the one posting this.

My thoughts are get your feedback while inquiring the discount rates, collect monies and then purchase and distribute.

Fresh from Viper139!
We can start with a 15% discount. If you start getting a large amount we can talk about a larger discount.

How does that tip your scale? I asked about whether that is one RH or not. Since he signed up here now maybe he can answer personally or I'll keep passing on info.

I've purchased all my beads from David over the years. A healthy discount would be reason to get a couple more pounds. Otherwise, I should wait.

David has Humidity Sheets too that I highly recommend for travel cases. I don't know if they could be included in the GB but I love these things. I get the biggest and trim them down.

Depends on the size of the cooler. More beads wont hurt anything... They will give you longer between recharges and faster recovery. On heartfeld's website is a calculator to figure the amount of beads.

Looks like 1LB should serve my purposes just right.

RH is a personal issue like: boxers, briefs or commando! Pick what you like best.

The hard fast rule of 70/70 really isn't a rule at all. I'd wager most of us started at 70, and worked down to 65. For me, 65 allows a looser draw and an all around better burn.

Beads don't mix and match, you can't add 70 to 65 and get 67.5

opusfxd
04-27-2009, 08:41 PM
How close to a pound is about right? I've found that if it's close I'll over do it. 65 seems to be the concensus around here. :)

BTW, copy the list put your name at the bottom with all the other pertinent info and update the total please. Makes it easy on my lazy butt when it comes time to add it all up.

the calculator actually suggested 14 oz., so a LB would put me 2 over. is that enough?

LAST....

Lets see, they are recharged with distilled water when necessary. They can be recharged almost indefinitely, as I understand.

If your asking how long between recharges, that depends on the size of the container your humidifying, how often its opened and how good it seals.

The distilled water is key. Regular tap water or mineral water has stuff that will 'clog up' and essentially break your beads.

Quote request has been placed for 28-30 pounds of 65% beads shipped to one location.

I think with that much we could take care of Duane's humidor with no problems. Stand by. Just as a reminder, these won't be ordered until all payments are made. Not that I don't trust my brothers but my credit card can't take the hit right now.

With beads it is a "the more the merrier" kind of situation. Extra beads will help make up for average opening and closing of the humi/cooler but also in the event of not so great seals on said strorage box.

Ok, I've got my shoes off and have been going over the math and at this total I hope I'm not wrong. Prices have been rounded up to the nearest nickel to make the math that much easier. (shipping was 1.1734763847 so it went up)

2 oz 60% tube 13.15
65% beads 25.50/pound
1 oz 65% tube 9.60
9.5x9.5 65% sheet 8.20
19.5x19.5 65% sheet 24.60

shipping: 1.20 per item
I figured it was easiest to count the 35 items and divide by the estimated shipping charge of 41.15.

IF we get all the money together and into Dave by Saturday we might get it shipped out. But he's closing shop to go to a cigar dealer thing in NC and will otherwise ship on 6/8 (which is most likely).

Fred mentioned that he'd be kind enough to collect the money and would add a hey cal button (of course no mention of what this is for) and forward it on to Viper. This will be fully funded prior to placing the order then we'll have to figure out a herf to weigh it out. (could be really amusing in a back room with a triple beam scale)

Shipping has been calculated on the latest combine so please don't change your orders unless you're willing to fully fund the new shipping charges. Likewise the discount was also calculated on those figures. The way I figure there might be a few dollars in reserve which will be used to deal with the calculated shipping vs. actual shipping charges and if you all don't mind if there's anything left after that we have Fred buy some stamps to Afghanistan.

That's all for now.
Questions?

I would suggest that if you can make it by Fred's office on Sat, even if just to pick up beads, that you try to do so. We need to make sure Fred has the beads with him on Sat along with all the other stuff we are packing. I am happy to pick up beads for whomever asks. I would be ok driving to HMS after packing and a smoke in the park but I'd say my coming up there would be likely, not guaranteed.
