Cafe Fumar

I am excited to finally have a true Italian style espresso blend in the Cafe Fumar line up. This is the blend which I personally drink in my Cappuccinos every morning.
When I was originally figuring out the blends I wanted for the Cafe Fumar name, I was torn between this Italian style espresso blend and the American style espresso blend that is my Catador Espresso Blend. I conducted many taste tests and against my own preference for the Torcedor espresso, the Catador was more popular.
The main difference between these two blends; The Torcedor espresso has a medium to dark roast common of an Italian espresso, and the Catador espresso has a dark roast which is more typical of an American espresso.
I think that the reason a darker roast is more popular in the United States stems from the size of the espresso drinks here in America. If you look at a cappuccino served in Italy there is strictly two ounces of espresso blended with equal part steamed milk. When I have to purchase a cappuccino from a local coffee shop no matter how big or small the establishment, odds are that the two shot cappuccino I ordered will contain more than the two ounces of steamed milk and often four or six. Because of this extra steamed milk the espresso is diluted, demanding a darker roasted blend.
Whether you are picky about proportions and roasts as I am, or could care less as long as your espresso drink is hot and caffeinated I have an espresso for you.
For straight espresso shots, caffè macchiatos and cappuccinos(of correct proportion) I recommend using the Italian style Cafe Fumar Torcedor Blend. For wet(extra steamed milk) cappuccinos and caffè lattes I recommend Cafe Fumar Catador Espresso Blend.
To properly introduce the new Torcedor Espresso Blend I am running a sale on my website through July. A 12oz whole bean bag will be $9.95.
