Rocky Patel Edge – Sumatra
4:45 The construction is very nice with a slight sponginess throughout.
Right off in the pre light taste I get that spiciness I like so much, you know that tingling on the lips. The light was quick and even. I seemed to be enjoying this from the get go, not one of those that needs a quarter inch to settle in. This has started with a nice easy draw with good smoke, seems to have a bit of pepper in it? I’m still learning my flavors so that’s what I’m calling it. As a side note to those that have seen my Palio skills (or lack there of), seems I got this one flat off on the decap.

5:15 The first inch still has the white ash hanging on and the burn is perfectly symmetrical all the way around. I love the way the veins of the wrapper stay on the ash. As a side note, what’s with the wind this afternoon? I think there’s a small dog warning out!

5:30 An inch and a half of ash just fell off of this due to the freaking wind. Oh and it landed right on my keyboard. Grrrrr. Flavor is about the same here, still burning good though. Oddly enough, there seems to be a real soft spot right where my lower lip goes near the head end of this. Is Rocky getting cheap and forgetting to fill these all the way? We’ll deconstruct later.

5:45 OOPS!! Working so hard on my pictures from the tri today that it went out. Relight shows no ill effects. Still burning straight as an arrow and maintaining that same flavor profile. Can you tell I’m not power smoking this thing?

6:05 Ok, I’m bored. Nothing to see here. I still have about 2” left but I’m done. Anyone want to try the rest? I’ll save it for you. ?

Got to reward my efforts. Turns out I finished 11 out of 20. I really have to work on my run I could have been 5th or 6th. 1:10:10 on the time.
