Thought I would say hello......Jcarlton provided the link to this site on CS last night as I joined that site also. Been smokin cigars for awhile, but am still pretty green  in terms of tasting and general cigar knowledge. Learning by yourself is pretty tedious. Took a peek before the intro and it looks like you guys have pretty regular get togethers, I will do my best to make a couple soon!

By the way, one of my first box purchases was 8-5-8s, talk about not knowing what a lucky guy I was to find such an enjoyable smoke first time out. The ebb and flow of my humi has probably paralleled the economy  and the amount of time I was on the lakes in the upper midwest fishing for walleye. Now I am home much more and trying to assemble a quality stash of variety. Right now I am working on a Cu. Reject.....IMHO not a bad daily to fill my pie hole for about $1.70.

Anyway, look forward to meeting you folks and thanks for the resource,
Ron

Ron Welcome to the FRH's forums... definitely a much more concentrated place to find info about Colorado get togethers.

As for what you smoke... if you like 'em, smoke 'em... Some of my favs are only a couple of bucks or less. The Perdomo 2 Mistakes come to mind...

The 8-5-8 is a top notch smoke... I have a box of the Maduro's taking a nice long nap right now... I might break into them next spring and see what they are like with a year nap.

It would be awesome to have another member visit at the herfs... This is definitely a generous group.

What do you do GAZHOG? I worked on the construction drawings for the Folsom Field Suite Upgrades they did a few years back. Also, if you decide to make it to Stanley Pappas on 7/26 I just might have an 858 Sun Grown for you. I love the 858 Maddies and the Sun Grown blows it away in my book!

Ron,

Have you ever had an 8-5-8 sun grown? If not I think I know what I am gonna bring for ya if you make one of the herfs...

Thanks for the warm reception guys.

Twinarch, I am an appraiser (commercial real estate) and work out of my home office in the basement. I also played a little for the last 6+ years with walleye tournament fishing. Back to full time appraisal now. It is easier to smake a stogie in the office than on the boat.....

Stanley Pappas on 7/26 is on the calendar  .

Looks like I better try the Sun Growns, maybe soon.

Just had a RP Vintage 2nd from CI last night, not bad at all

Anyway, back to work and thanks again,
Ron

If you don't already have one the only place you are going to find one is in the grubby little hands of one of these guys. :P Now I have a different AF Sun Grown for you that is quite tasty that I will bring along and it is much easier to get. 8)

Who are you calling grubby?? :?

Yeah Yeah I will admit I seem to gravitate toward collecting Rare Fuente stuff... I probably have 25% of my collection in stuff like Anejos, Opus, 8-5-8 SG's, and Hemingway Maduros... But I don't think that makes me grubby does it?

Plus I don't mind sharing... I have actually given away more 06 anejos than I have smoked, hehe....

I definitely should take a pic of my Fuente tray in the Humidor once my DON CARLOS EDICION ANIVERSARIO come in...
