Sadly, my lighter was removed from my person yesterday in airport security (made it through Denver and Salt Lake 3 days before, and it's traveled with me many times prior to that as well, but po-dunk Ontario, CA had too much time on their damn hands...).

Suggestions for a new one?

Price range... $50-100? i have no clue - i use it enough, so it pays off fairly quickly, as long as it doesn't get jacked again ;)

Only for cigars, or for cigars/pipes?

If for pipes too, get the Old Boy (http://www.google.com/products?sourceid=navclient&rlz=1T4GGIK_enUS281US282&q=old+boy+lighter&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=jThnSpvdNMOZlAeakpXdDA&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4). I've been eyeing one of those for about a year now. I just need to pull the trigger.

I like Scot's blazer CG-001, while searching for a deal on that lighter, I found an EBAY store with the best price so far. They come in many colors and clear to boot.

not sure what side of the state you live in......but sean (smoking Cave) has some nice little triple torches (kind of like the ones on that ebay ad) with a led light attached....their like $10.

Otherwise....for $50-100 the options are wide open.

I really like blazers and the CG-001 is my favorite right now. You can also find good, cheap torch lighters on DealExtreme.com. They run less than $3 or $4 each so having a stash is good. Jamie and Peter use these and could give a thumbs up or down on the tightness of the flame and reliability.

I like nice lighters, but mine generally stay at home... I stash multiple cheap lighters in my bag, car, caddy, etc and I'm only out <$3 if one gets lost. For the quality & price, I think these are great -

The one Jamie gifted me early this year is still going strong & I've only had to fill the thing once or twice... www.dealextreme.com has plenty of other lighters, but I'm guessing the quality varies given some are obviously novelty items. Shipping can also take a little while (a week or two).

My other suggestion would be a Zippo with the Blazer Z-Plus torch insert... These hold much less butane, but I still find one fill is more than sufficient for a weeks smoking at home or a good full day herfing. These ship as an insert only, so if you already have a Zippo case the total cost is less than $15.

I love my Xikar Havana when I am indoors... but since I do a lot of smoking in the car and outside, I use a Ronson jetlite for most of my cigars...

The xikar is nice and fancy, has a lifetime warrany, and can be had online for around $50. If you need a source, lemme know.

The Ronson is about $3 at some walmart stores.
